Merci Lanka Foundation is an international Non Profit / NGO founded in 2005, registered in Srilanka and the UK under the Charity No.XT 32369. Our organization is a micro enterprise relief credit initiative and the pioneer interest free loan scheme in Sri Lanka, which started with a mission to connect people through micro lending that is free of interest in order to alleviate poverty. We reach out and support people looking to create a better future for themselves, their families and their communities.

  • Our members work on voluntary basis and receive no remuneration (we don’t even claim travelling expenses or subsistence)

Types of Loans given

Business Loans

For self employed projects - industrial,agricultural and small business ventures.

General Loan

General purpose loans to consolidate a debt, paying for an unexpected expense or small home improvement project, weddings etc

Distress Fund

Grants to the needy for medical purpose, educational, orphans care and janaza expenses.

Majlis Ul Ilm Ladies Madarasa

Conducted to help elderly women and adolescent girls amongst the needy, who have missed out on the opportunity to learn Islam.

CSR Projects

Vocational Training

develop skills of youngsters between the ages of 18 years to 23 years who are school drop outs or those who were unable to pass GCE (o/l) in IT or Hospitality industry It helps them to upgrade skills and build a career.

Marriage Consultancy

We help find suitable partners which can improve their relationship communicate better, negotiate differences to lead an understanding family life.

Tube Well Water Projects

Presently we have undertaken tube well projects in a village 30kms off Anuradhapura to give poor villagers access to clean drinking water.6 wells are needed to provide water to over 800 muslim families
